There has been alot of changes and more hours to work than we know what to do with.
We have had a lot happen these last 3 months, which has pulled us away from projects we have wanted to complete, fitness goals we had for ourselves, and time itself. This is ok though!
When you get overwhelmed with things, know it is normal and ok. But instead of stressing over it, worrying over it, start prioritizing the things that are a must with the things that are optional.
Take your stresses and stop looking at them like chores or a negative and start looking at them as opportunities to do better, faster, more efficient… Whatever the case, the longer you look at it in a negative sense, the longer you are going to live in a world that is a stressor to you. Why do that to yourself? Remember YOU control how you look at the world and perceive it. Allowing someone else to control your life, your outlook, is like passing out on the most epic roller coaster. You are just there for the ride, not conscious, body being thrashed around…. Not the way I would choose to live a life, and not a life I would want you to live.
With that being said, how do you deal with death? Death of a loved one, animal, friend, relationship, finances etc etc…. 2016 is suppose to be your year…. It is suppose to be our year. It seems as though death is lingering around every corner, all parts of the world, and all facets of ‘life’.
This year started off with the tragic loss of Katie (owner’s beloved and best dog). Then we had friends have heart attacks, car wrecks, people died, friend’s pets died, athlete’s pets died, finances almost died, major stomach problems putting people in the hospital for almost a week, the flu is hitting hard this year and people are dying from it, clients have come and gone and come back again, then we had another dog die in our pack of dogs… This year has hit VERY hard.
So today for us is no April fools day. We are reflecting and looking to the future. Taking these things and trying to make them a learning experience for ourselves and clients.
It is like sleeping in during work days, or getting up to make a solid breakfast versus a high carb/sugar breakfast. Most people HATE waking up. We don’t like to wake up earlier, we like to sleep too, but the consequences for us are not worth it, we would rather adjust time to go to bed and get a little more sleep than sleep in. With that scenario, we look at breakfast as a time to reflect, wake up, start getting creative with the meal, spending time with the dogs, making a better cup of coffee (french press or aero press is our preferred choice), being able to open a book sooner, know that we got ahead start to the day…. see any negative thoughts or actions there? No complaining, no wishing, no wanting to go back in time or back to a past state, ALWAYS FORWARD. Funny… That “always forward” just dawned on me as to why, when in Aviation training, they had us always say it when we broke from formation or from talking to a Drill Sergeant.
Always look FORWARD, and stop looking back and contemplating on “what ifs” of the past. If you are always looking back you will miss at what is coming forward or the direction you need to go. Try driving down the freeway while looking back at what you passed… Think you will make it to your destination?
We have downsized in workers, picked up in client hours, and even started to offer a remote coaching optionsEXCLUSIVELY to clients we have worked with in person. Our days have gotten very busy we had to prioritize whether we should blog, FB post, or even offer special deals….. We want to help as many people as are willing to be helped, so if you need it, write to us via email. We want to help. We will return your emails. If we can’t answer them, know we will point you in the right direction. We are not going to BS you, we are not going to give you fluff information. We are going to give you the knowledge to make better decisions with your health and fitness needs.
Before we go…. We were recently asked about our new facility we were working on securing. We let that go. We decided, instead of making “another gym”, we decided to keep things exclusive, personalized, small, worth both person’s time, and give everyone the best coaching experience they deserve. Why change something that has been working for us for the last year. If we move, it’s because we moved into a bigger house with a bigger garage. We don’t need a big fancy facility, our facility is big enough to do what we want to do. Provide the best damn, most authentic/genuine/real coaching experience that our clients deserve.
